How this website collects and uses information, and which third-party services are involved.
Effective August 24, 2026
This website is operated by Mattingly Ott, a bookkeeping firm located in Louisville, Kentucky. This policy describes what happens to information collected through mattinglyott.com. It does not govern the handling of client financial records, which is addressed separately in your engagement agreement with us.
You can use this site without giving us anything. If you choose to contact us or request our free QuickBooks Online Diagnostic Review, we collect what you enter on that form — typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your situation. Our intake form is hosted by Google Forms, and information you submit through it is processed by Google on our behalf.
If you subscribe to our weekly newsletter, we collect your email address and any name you provide. Our newsletter is sent through MailerLite. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link, and you can remove yourself at any time.
Like most websites, this one automatically records technical information when you visit — including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the pages you view.
Mattingly Ott uses third-party analytics and visitor identification services, including Visual Visitor, LLC, to evaluate website traffic and identify business names and general geographic locations (city, state, country) associated with visiting IP addresses. Visual Visitor automatically collects electronic network activity (such as IP address, device type, browser version, and pages visited) to provide B2B analytics. By using this site, you acknowledge and consent to the collection and processing of this activity data by third-party service providers, including Visual Visitor.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site and the third-party services described above may use cookies and similar technologies to recognize returning visitors and understand how the site is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using this site.
We do not sell your information. We share it with the service providers we use to operate this site and our business — including Google, MailerLite, Visual Visitor, and our hosting provider — and only to the extent needed for them to perform those functions. We may also disclose information where required by law.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any issue. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and browser extensions that block tracking scripts will prevent the analytics and visitor identification services described above from operating on your visit.
If you would like to know what information we hold about you, or would like it deleted, email us at the address below and we will do our best to accommodate the request.
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
We may update this policy as our website and the services behind it change. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
